1.1 Shared Vision
Candidates facilitate the development and implementation of a shared vision for the use of technology in teaching, learning, and leadership.
Artifact: Technology Vision
Reflection:
The technology vision document is the vision of the district and schools in Clayton County. There are plans put in
place to increase the use of technology throughout the district and within the schools. The district would like
to have all students to have the opportunity to learn the computer skills needed for college and jobs. The goal is to have all students, by 8th grade, be computer literate. The plan for each year, is to ensure that teachers are equipped with the technology standards and skills to make the vision happen.
This artifact demonstrates the research of finding the vision of the school district, since many teachers are unaware of the districts motivation to move forward with technology. The research was done to see how the district wants teachers and administrators incorporating technology with daily lessons for each grade levels in schools. The district has a plan for more professional development on a variety of tools that would be implemented in the future.
I learned the district has a vision and plan to incorporate more technology into schools and has set aside a budget and a schedule for new computers for to teachers and students to use. The plan is to be completely immersed with technology on a daily basis. The only thing I would do differently is to have the teachers and administration view the technology vision and create a technology vision for the school. This could help create more professional development for teachers
to assist colleagues with technology within the school.
The work for this artifact helped to create a survey for teachers to help develop a professional development. The impact of the survey would determine how many professional developments need to be done throughtout the year. The principal wanted to see more technology being used, even into a more advanced PowerPoint. The assessment of incorporating more technology would impact the improvement of student engagement and that can be measured by increasing test scores.
