2.7 Assessment
Candidates model and facilitate the effective use of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessements to measure student learning and technology literacy, including the use of digital assessment tools and resources.
Artifacts: Professional Development Survey
Reflection:
The Professional Development survey was to assess what was learned from the professional development on PowerPoints. This allows to show what knowledge was gained and to see if a follow-up is needed. There were reflection questions to make sure the instructions of the professional development was clear and concise for all teachers to understand. The survey was completed as part of the closing for the professional development to assess the knowledge the teachers are taking back to the classroom.
The results was analyzed with positive results on how the instructions were clear and concise. The hands-on approach for teachers did have an appeal of tools they learned for PowerPoints. Some of the teachers did want a follow-up while others did not. The teachers would like to have another professional development on another digital tool.
I learned from this experience and the results that teachers are eager to learn more about digital tools. The
result from the Professional Development survey did show that the teachers want more professional development on technology. The only thing I would change about the survey is adding another question where teachers can type their opinions of the professional development. The more feedback I can get from the survey, the better the professional developments can become to gear towards their learning style and learning needs.
Question three of the Professional Survey helped to measure the new knowledge of the different tools of PowerPoints out of the teachers who participated in the professional development. This did impact one fourth grade class, when teacher did record her voice on a PowerPoint. The students became more engaged in the PowerPoint and the lesson itself. This could be measure by the LoTI evaluation through observation by displaying more applications of technology that is added to the PowerPoints.
