1.3 Policies, Procedures, Programs and Funding
Candidates research, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school, district, state, and federal technology plans and guidelines. Funding strategies may include development, submission, and evaluation of formal grant proposals.
Artifact: Partnership Proposal
Reflection:
Reaching out to the public is a great way for companies to be willing to donate supplies the school needs. Also, looking for and applying to grants can help with the needs of schools wishing to create programs or add elements to the environment. The top part of the artifact is a proposal for Staples to help donate supplies needed for the Honors and Award Committee. The bottom part is a grant proposal for Lowes Toolbox grant which the money will be used for a garden with a variety of plants for students to study.
This artifact demonstrates the research for finding grants to support programs schools would like to implement.
Also, reaching out to different companies, that could help with supplies needed for programs like Saturday School, Parent University, or PTA. This goes with the vision of the school and district to reach out to find more funds to help reach the student
needs.
I learned in order for a program to start or grow, a proposal for a company or grant is needed to show the intention for the supplies or funds. Many districts are struggling to maintain a budget and sometimes it is up to the schools to find the funds to support their needs based on the culture of the school. The change I would make to the grant is to find a technology grant that could help with funding for printer ink or for a better printing solution.
This artifact helped us to keep Staples as our Partner in Education, since they have been helping our school with much needed supplies. The students did receive crayons, spiral notebooks, and journals to help keep artifacts for every subject.
Teachers have also been receiving supplies for instruction. It impacted the students having materials to take notes or reflecting on lessons in journals. This can help to measure the educational growth of students by looking at their notes or how the reflections displays better writing skills.
