Introduction
My Name is April Booe-Fell, and I am in the Master’s Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program in the Fall of 2010 and will graduate Summer of 2012. I graduated from Florida Southern College in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education and Graphic Design. I started teaching Art at an elementary school in Clayton County in 2004 after moving to Georgia. In 2006, I gained an ESOL Endorsement through Clayton County Endorsement Program and the following school year I was hired into the position.
I am currently an ESOL teacher at Haynie Elementary School in Clayton County. I am also a coach for Cross Country and Track & Field for Mount Zion High School. When looking for a graduate program, KSU was the only one that had the Master’s Program for Instruction Technology, which I was looking for in the Metro-Atlanta area. My goal is to become a well-rounded educator with knowledge in technology. I plan to go back to teaching Art and incorporate what I have learned to create a better Art program for the 21st century. In the future, I plan on pursuing my Specialist. The only decision is the field I plan on getting my Specialist in.
The purpose of this portfolio is to demonstrate the mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology Standards. Each link displays artifact(s) and knowledge gained from the program. The link of the importance is the “Standards” link. This link will display artifacts documented work that was completed during this program. Each artifact and document represents the mastery of the standards.
I have enjoyed the challenges at Kennesaw State University, and I feel that I am well prepared to integrate what I have learned into any field I may teach in. I do have the ability to assist other educators or provide professional learning for them in the field of technology.
