5.3 Program Evaluation
Candidates design and implement program evaluations to determine the overall effectiveness of professional learning and deepening teacher content knowledge, improve teacher pedagogical skills and/or increasing student learning.
Artifacts: GAPSS
Reflection:
GAPSS was conducted for the 2011-2012 school year with a new administrator. She wished to see technology being utilized more in the classrooms for lessons and student engagement. This helped to evaluate where teachers and administration stand on technology within the school. This document also displays the Narrative of the technology survey, Professional Development
Proposal, and Evaluation Plan.
GAPSS helps to pull together the principals vision, where technology stands among teachers, and how to improve the utilization of technology. The goal of this document is to improve on the area where there were emergent to fully function
among the entire staff. This displays that professional development does play a role in teacher’s growth when utilizing technology in the classroom.
I learned that a change in administration can help alter the change in the way teachers are motivated. The principal is a strong advocate for technology and want the teachers to utilize the digital tools available. The change of the content that should have been made was conducting Part B of the GAPSS at the end of the school year.This would help to see if there were improvements for the use of technology in the classroom.
This artifact helped to see where the principal stood on technology and what programs we have that are technology related.
It also display plans to help improve the use of technology through professional development or other technology support. The impact helped to show that constant support is needed to help build confidence.
