Artifacts: Webquest
Reflection:
The Webquest was created for 2nd grade Science. The Webquest goes through weekly tasks that must be completed by the students. The PowerPoints and videos are embed to reinforce the lesson on the three types of Matter and how to mix Matter. The students must watch each PowerPoint and video to help them complete the tasks in each chart or charts.
This artifact adds the online element for the students to complete in the classroom individually or in small groups. Also, the tasks of the Webquest can be complete at home as a part of their homework assignment. The students can listen to each slide of the PowerPoints while reading the text. The videos support the lessons visually.
I learned that Webquests reinforce the class lessons for the students. The reinforcement can be conducted by the teacher as a part of a small group activity, or be given as a homework assignment. The only thing that can to be changed on the WebQuest is the printing feature for each chart. It could be formatted into a typeable document for the students to either print or email it to the teacher.
The science oriented WebQuests are useful to easily teach objectives that allows the integration of Math, Reading and Language Arts into Science. The teachers have a choice to implement the Webquests into their Science lesson. The achievement of using WebQuests can be measure by comparing test scores with teachers who use the webquest and those teacher who did not.
